    Peter Allen was born on February 10, 1944 in Tenterfield, New South Wales, Australia. He passed away because of complications of AIDS on June 18, 1992.

    Peter Allen was a famous cabaret-style singer and songwriter whose career peaked in the 1970s and 1980s.  He had an amazing voice that caught the attention of all who listened to him.

    He was first discovered by Judy Garland in 1964. Judy Garland hired him to perform with her. She later introduced him to her daughter, Liza Minnelli. In 1967, Peter Allen married Liza Minnelli; but the marriage on lasted until 1970.

    His albums included: Tenterfield Saddler (1972), Bi-Coastal (1980) and Not the Boy Next Door (1982).

    He also wrote "Don't Cry Out Loud" for pop singer Melissa Manchester and he also wrote "I Honestly Love You" for pop singer Olivia Newton John.

    Peter Allen also appeared on Broadway for a little while. He appeared in the musical "Legs Diamonds".
