    If The Landlord Changes The Locks To Your Building Before An Eviction Was Served Does That Make Them Sole Responsible For That Property Again And Void The Lease On Their Part?

    I am recently leasing a building for my business and I was late on rent. My landlord was mad and started calling family members and threatening to file for eviction. This started on Tuesday and by Friday I had the rent money to them. They accepted the rent and never filed for eviction. When I went to my building they had changed the locks and started to throw away personal belonging of mine. Did they make a mistake and void their lease to me and now I can move legally?

    1. they had no right to change locks prior to proper eviction

    2. they had no right to harrass any of your family members

    3. they had no right to enter the property as you were not evicted

    4. they had no right to touch, much less dispose of your personal property

    5. they had no right to accept your rent money deceiving you knowing they had changed the locks already  {we know you rec'd a receipt; right?}
