How Do You Fix A Leather Scratch?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

In case you want to fix up a leather damage which is just a very small hole then you can make a patch and repair it. Now cut out a circle around the hole and see to it that you do not make the other hole any bigger. Now with the help of this paper circle that you just cut, you can match new leather and cut out the same size. Now, lay the leather circle into the hole on a flat, firm surface -- it should fit in adequately. Use a hammer with a flat head to quietly strike the rear of the leather so that the circle lays level and is not very thick. Next, cut out a linen piece that is at slightest one inch (2.5 cm) bigger all around than the leather encircle. Use garment paste to hold fast the leather circle onto the centre of the linen piece. After which you can place some heavy weight on it.

If the damage is rigorous, check with a tailor or luggage repair expert.
