Why Do Certain Medicines Make You Sleepy?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

Certain Medicines such as  Eszopiclone is part of a class of drugs called sedatives/hypnotics which should be taken before bed time and sedates living you wanting to sleep. However, it is good to know there are other meds that are not sleeping pills but can make you feel sleepy just because of their side effects. Please these should not be confused with the sleep prescribed meds. Hope this can help. Good luck.

Some simple medications like Benadryl can make you very sleepy. As a matter of fact the same exact medicine in Benadryl is what Someone is made of.It is what is known as a side effect. They make you sleepy because they act on the sleep center in your brain.
