Answer Question

Helen of Troy said 'the face that launched a thousand ships'. She was the wife of King Menelaus of Sparta. Helen, the daughter of Zeus and Leda was regarded to be the most gorgeous woman in all of Greek mythology. Greek mythology says that the Greek goddess of love and lust Aphrodite, had promised Helen to the Trojan Prince Paris or Alexander as he is better known, for a golden apple. Paris was successful in seducing Helen, who left her husband and their Nine year old daughter to go live with the Trojan prince. This is said to be the main cause of the Trojan War. All of Helens previous suitors along with Helens husband Menelaus fought against the Trojan army. It was in this war that Alexander was killed by Philoctetes, an archer and the son of King Meliboea of Thessaly.
