How Can I Stop A Wage Garnishment?
I am currently being garnished by one agency and a second agency is attempting to garnish my wages
Answers
If official notice is given to you about the wages garnishing then you have to get a lawyer because it will be hard to stop the garnishments with no lawyer. You can then have the garnishments stopped, changed, or repaid. Don't wait because your financial image will quickly get out of hand.

You can choose to do this without the aid of an attorney. You must file what's called an "Objection" with the court. There will be a hearing date set where you go before the judge/magistrate along with the plaintiff. You then state why you feel the garnishment should be released. In Michigan, the objection needs to be filed within 14 days.
