Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The Ardeche River is located in South-Central France. It is 120km long and starts near the village of Astet in Massif Central. It's most sought after attraction is a natural stone arch across the river. The 60m arc stretching across the river is known as the Pont d' Arc or the arch bridge and makes an impressive picture. Its scenic valley, known as the Ardèche Gorges stretches 30km and is the most scenic spot along the river. It has four tributaries which include Uazon, Ligne, Chassezac and Ibie.

In the summer, the river is a favourite spot for water activities like kayaking and canoeing. It joins the Rhone River near Pont-Saint-Esprit.  The river for all its beauty and scenic aura is one of France's fastest flowing rivers with a basin area of 2430 square kilometer.
