The only way is to force yourself to do things that you are actually afraid to do. If you find it difficult to interact socially for example then you must get amongst other people by joining a club or organisation in which you are interested. If you do things then your self confidence will grow as you realise that you are actually a very capable person. Sitting at home is not the answer. Get involved in something! Don't keep saying no when asked to take an active role. You must remember that 'nerves' are built in to all of us and are sometimes an advantage as they 'sharpen' you up before you do something. It isn't easy but it's well worth the effort. You will find that your life becomes much easier, you will manage your affairs better and do better at work. Go for it!
