Why Muslims Are In Miserable Condition?

I doubt Muslims are in a miserable condition. Most Muslims are living in countries that are rich in natural and human resources, some are even considered rich countries. However, Muslims feel they are victimized in certain places in the world and that is only because of their complacence, their apologetic behavior towards the world and because of deviation from their original roots which promoted research and technology, knowledge and wisdom. Most Muslims in today's world are simply ashamed to be Muslims and are either deviants or are divided into various sects and factions. There is no unity amongst the Ummah and  hence despite their formidable numbers their influence in the world is negligible.
