Numeric Control, often known as CNC or Computer Numeric Control, is a method of controlling the position of a machine with precise motor controls, often done under computer control. The most common CNC device is a vertical mill, a large machine used for metal cutting. These machines have very high accuracy and CNC allows them to be automated for production of high quantities of parts.
