    X^2+6x+1 =0

to get a perfect square we can do the following

    (x+3)^2 = x^2+6x+9
which is the same as x^2+6x+1+8
    so we get x^2+6x+1+8 = 8
    so (x+3)^2 = 8
    so x+3 = 2sqrt2
    so x = 2sqrt2 - 3
