What Would Cause A Cat To Pull Out Her Hair?
My cats are not sick or losing weight and eat well nothing has changed but, this summer they did have fleas for the first time they are 12yrs. Old and never outside. I have tried hydrocortisone spray but, does not seem to be effective. They both seem to have a cleaning fit lately but, its more annoying to me not them should I be concerned or could it be a infection? Should I consult a vet? Is this registration free?

It can be a behavioral thing or your cat has problem of fleas,
mange, ringworm (a fungal infection), allergies, immune mediated disease and bacterial infections and you must consult with the vet.

There is a theory that cats who are at the bottom of the hierarchy get depressed and pull out their hair in frustration. I had a cat like that, and out of my three cats he was a the most emotionally dysfunctional. He'd pull out his hair in clumps and leave bald spots. I was told he needed more affection and grooming and he got better. Some cats take out their feelings of isolation out on themselves. And learning from the cat behaviorist that he was depressed, I never ignored him after that. After that, he recovered and lived a long and very content 18 years.
