On London's Trafalgar Square, there is the National Gallery. Here you will find a great collection of European painting, such as Cezanne, Velazquez, and others.

The Victoria and Albert Museum, or the "V&A" as it is affectionately known, is well worth a visit. It has not just paintings but also an extensive collection of ceramics, clothes, jewellry, glass, metalwork and sculpture

Situated on the River Thames is the famousTate Gallery, now known as the Tate Britain. Here you will find traditional old British works such as Turner and Constable.

The Tate Modern, created in the year 2000, is housed in a former power station and is a very exciting place to visit. The display of modern art is fantastic, and here you will find works by Tracy Emin and other up-to-the-minute and controversial artists.

If you feel like trying somewhere a bit more off the beaten track then why not try the Brixton Art Gallery? Brixton is easily reached by the tube, and there you will find modern, exciting urban works and culture.
