How Can I Add Extra Informational Value To My Company Web Site?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

In recent years the focus of most search engines has been on producing high quality contextual results.

Core pages such as About Us, Contact Us, Products/Services, FAQ and Shipping Info, must therefore be supported by pages that enhance and add real value by being relevant and focussed. In many cases, it will be these supporting pages that gets your site notices and help close extra sales.

For example, if you sell products consider supplying site visitors with product reviews and 'how to' pages. Avoid merely parroting product blurbs and keep to plain, jargon-free English. The aim is to create in-depth content that explains in detail how and when to use a product or service. Supply examples your audience can relate to and demonstrate the context in which a particular product or service is used. These can be everyday examples, not necessarily full blown case studies, though this too is an option when presented properly.

If, for example, your site sells organic vegetables, you'd want to provide recipe ideas and give users the opportunity to send in their favourite organic vegetable recipes too. This sort of thing can be tied in with seasonal and marketing campaigns for instance.
