Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The Medieval period or the middle ages marked the begging of the modern times in Europe. The medieval period lasted for a 1000 years and had a very deep impact on the culture of ancient civilization. Jewellery and modern clothing were seen for the first time and became popular during the medieval period. There was a variety of clothing and people dressed as per their social and economic standards. The clothing styles of the classes differed.
The peasants would make their basic garbs with wool and linen undergarments. Wool was shorn from sheep at home and spun by the women of the family. The celery dresses were more ornate made out of wool too. The upper class and the nobility dressed in true fashion. Their garments, even though wool, were of brighter colours and better designs, they wore ornaments and gemstones.
