Where Can I Explore Historic Places In Eastern Maryland?
My boyfriend and I love hiking, exploring and history. We just went to Harper's Ferry, WV last weekend and it was wonderful! I'd love to find more interesting places like that nearby. Ideally it would be no more than 2-3 hours away (preferably under 1.5) ; a place rich in history that wouldn't be inundated with tourists. Does anyone have recommendations?

I've seen that and found it very interesting! We've visited a ton of those places and I love that they all have information on site. But, if I wanted information I could find by doing a google search I'd have done one myself.
Does anyone else have more specific knowledge of the area? I was hoping someone may have lived/visited here and have a knowledge of the more obscure places or of history more specific to the area.
