The book that got widespread fame and is written by Isaac Asimov is titled as The Foundation series. The series is being written in the span of about 44 years and has seven volumes in it, with each one of them is linked to the other. Originally the Foundation series was published in a magazine called Astounding and the duration when the series was in publication was from the year 1942 to the year 1950. If we talk of the idea, Asimov himself once said that he got the idea of the story from a book called 'History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire' that was written by Edward Gibbon. The person who helped him in the development of the concept for the story is known as John W. Campbell. When the concept published in the form of a story, it was acclaimed as a great work and that corroborate the success of the thought.
