    The carbon element is a non-metal. It is always in solid phase at room temperature.

      Carbon is a chemical element with symbol C and atomic number 6. It is the most abundant element on the earth by mass after helium, hydrogen and oxygen. The appearance of carbon is black (graphite)
      and colorless (diamond). The phase at room temperature of carbon is 'Solid'.
