Chewing could come from a few reasons, most commonly vitamin deficiency (usually chewing on plants), anxiety, or teething related to new teeth, aching gums or toothache to relieve the pain. If you think the cat has severe tooth pains it would be a good idea to see the vet.
To get her to stop chewing you can try to present her with a suitable alternative to chew. Place it next to the area where she chews and cover the furniture temporarily so she won't have the option to chew on it anymore.
Alternatively you can purchase some Bitter Apple Spray made specifically to spray on areas the cat/dog is chewing on and it will deter the pet since they don't like the taste. I'm sure you can purchase it at any local pet store or order it online. Make sure the spray won't hurt your furniture before you try it though.
Good Luck!
