Because of the divergence in their living conditions, nature has delineated the physical makeup of both the types of elephants in different manners, making it suitable enough for them to adapt to the physical and geographical conditions of their respective habitats.
For one, African elephants have far larger ears than Asiatic or Indian elephants. Because African elephants live in hotter climatic conditions, they are bigger in size, more active and much more violent and aggressive. Their ears, which are sometimes three and a half feet wide, attributing to their size, enhances the hearing power of the elephant and makes it cautious towards enemies. The ears also present a large surface for losing body heat. In comparison to the Asian elephants and all other land inhabitants, the African elephant is the most enormous, the noblest of all animals, having a height of almost 11 feet and weighing around 6 tons.
The Asiatic elephant, on the other hand, is smaller, more domesticated and is not used to living in hot conditions.
