Former Liverpool football club full back Steve Nicol is currently manager of Major league soccer side New England Revolution.
Major league soccer is the United States version of the Premier league and is the top pro league for soccer in the country.
Born in Irvine, Scotland in December nineteen sixty one Stephen Nicol began his football career as an eighteen year old at Scottish club Ayr United in nineteen seventy nine. After two years and seventy league games, Nicol went on to join Merseyside club Liverpool in nineteen eighty one.
Nicol went on to spend the majority of his playing career with the Anfield club, and after fourteen years with Liverpool, he went on to join fellow premier league club Sheffield Wednesday in nineteen ninety five; after a brief spell with the Owls, Nicol moved to Notts County where he spent three years as player manager at the East Midlands club. .
