Tijuana was initially colonized by Europeans in the year 1542. This region was further colonized towards the end of the mission era. The modern Tijuana Culture centre consists of a theatre, lecture room, library, exhibition hall etc. The artist community of Tijuana is said to be highly active and internationally acclaimed.
