    Tijuana is said to be the biggest city in the Mexican state of Baja California. It is one of the westernmost cities in Latin America and is positioned on the edge of the US-Mexico border, next to San Diego County, California.

    According to census reports the total area of Tijuana was estimated to be, 245.9 square miles. As of the year 2005, the total population of this city was said to be 1,410,700, having an average population density of 5,729.1 per square mile.

    Tijuana was initially colonized by Europeans in the year 1542. This region was further colonized towards the end of the mission era. The modern Tijuana Culture centre consists of a theatre, lecture room, library, exhibition hall etc. The artist community of Tijuana is said to be highly active and internationally acclaimed.
