How Do You Know If A Lizard Is Vegetarian Or Not?

There a large number of lizard species and many of them are vegetarian, carnivorous or even omnivorous. It is important that before getting or purchasing a lizard you know what species it belongs to and enquire weather or not it is vegetarian. As a general rule larger lizards like the Uromastyxs, Chuckwalla, Green iguanas etc are vegetarian species. But some larger species like the bearded dragons can require a part of their normal diet to include a few insects even though eighty percent of their diet is vegetarian.

Even though a lizard is vegetarian it does necessarily mean that it is easy to keep. They have to be fed a constant supply of fresh vegetables which is expensive and they can be very aggressive when fully grown.
