If you want to play the video on DVD player, you need to download a burner to burn it to dvd first.I use this burning software to burn my dvds and it works well for me. Free download here: www.dvd-ripper-copy.com

Problem is not the SW, it is usually the blanks you are using. DVD-R's are about 90% compatible in home systems. DVD+R's are more like 25%. Also Brand makes a difference. You might think Sony is good but not with my player. If you go to the manufacturer's site of your home player they often list blanks that work best. I bought 50 of Best Buy's home brand, almost all USELESS.
