East german government built the berlin wall because too many east germans were immigrating over to west germany

East Germany was under Soviet control therefore, a communistic dictatorship after WWII and West Germany had been set up as a democracy, similar to our own. The skilled professionals wanted to work in a democracy and East Germany was losing too many skilled manpower through the border. So they built the wall to stop people from crossing over to opportunity. I just returned from Berlin 2 days ago.
