    Vauxhall Astra is a car which has been developed by the British subsidiary of General Motors. It is one of their small family car models, which were first released in the year 1979. The name is also similar to other car model that is the Opel Astra. The name Vauxhall Astra was just a name tag given by General Motors.

    The name Astra first originated in the year 1979, the car was built a year before Opel lunched its Opel Kadett. The Astra was the very first model made by Vauxhall which had the Front Wheel drive. The other models released in various years were Vauxhall Astra Mark 1,2,3,4 and 5. The Mark 2 generation of the Astra was installed with a GTE 2 L fuel injection system.
