The perfect foundation should be such that when applied, it should improve the appearance of your already beautiful face and not necessarily look like you are wearing a make-up which is an inch thick. When you need it a little darker, all you have to do is put on an extra layer. While testing at stores, do not test on your hand as your face is not the same shade as your hand. Instead aply a little on your jaw-line, then check it. It will match your skin colour. Don't have obvious lines and don't go too heavy on the lips and eyes.  If you want red luscious lips keep the eye make-up minimal and if you want sexy smoky eyes then use a clear lip gloss.

Make-up depends on a lot of things - your hair and eye colour, your skin colour, your outfit etc.  Decide what you are wearing and choose make-up to match.  If you're wearing a green dress then don't go for purple eye shadow!
