This Question is Answered

My Dog Is 10 Years Old. I Can't Get Her To Hardly Eat Anything. Why?

She is losing too much weight. She drinks lots of water, but her nose is still dry and hot. She just started to have diarrhea. She has no energy at all. She also has been throwing up 1 hour or 2 after what food she does eat. She weighed about twenty pounds. Now she is about 10. She is half Chinese pug, half ?

Weight loss isn't something to fool around with, it's generally a sign that there is something more serious going on with the animal. Sorry to hear that he's ill, get him to the vet.
It could also just be old age, I don't quite know the life span of pugs, but it could be just that. Hope this helps, good luck.

Sorry to hear about your dog. My father had a dog that was going through the same thing. He took him to the vet and they put him on a special diet and it made the dog healthy again. I hope your dog gets better.

My 10 year old American Bulldog died 6 weeks ago with the same type of condition.  She had been off her food for about 2 weeks then on the day she passed away, she came back to normal.    Unfortunately at supper time she passed away.  I'm not sure about your dog's pedigree but I think unless you don't mind if she goes, you may want to get her to a vet FAST.

Your dog even at ten should have an healthy appetite and not be so tired and her nose should be wet everything you have mentioned would suggest she is really poor you need to get her checked by the vet straight away don't delay she has already lost half her body weight

      Dear Sherryc,
maybe you dog is just sick or getting a little too old for its kind. If (he) (she) is throwing up she probably is definitely sick and if her nose is dry that is a true fact that she is sick. Also having  diarrhea  isn't good but you should see if it has allergies. Or any sickness that runs in her real family at a sertine age. Bring (him) (her) to the Vet. Maybe its Vet will find the cure. But i would do it quick before anything else happens.  that means as soon as possible.

If your pet is that sick you can try two things both in the childres section at the store.     get pedilite get ice cold to get electrilites backin body.  and get stage 2 baby food. Chicken   veal  ham  and give that to you baby that will put back in the body what it is throwing up.  i just went through the same thing three weeks ago.  good luck

Run to you telephone. If you are concerned enough to seek advice, please call at least two vets and get their opinions. If they suggest certain ways to feed the dog, or times, something specific, then come back here to your friends on line and ask for advice for the specifics. I wish you well and will be waiting to hear more from you and your pet.

      Hi there.
So sorry to read that your poor Dog is poorly. I would suggest worming her or changing her diet. My Dog  developed a allergy to Pedigree Chum. We had to put him on Boiled Chicken, Scrambled Eggs or Rice Pudding until it was out of his system (about 4 weeks) and then try another DOD food. Luckily this worked for him and he went on for another 8 years. Failing that I would get her to the vets pronto.
Good luck and I hope she gets well very soon.
       Best wishes, Tracey.

Your dog must be sick too...

Try to see if she will eat a cat and if so then  its nothing wrong with the dog probably sick and tired of eating whatever you are feeding it.
