I went out to my Blazer today and it seemed like the battery was dead, tried to charge it nothing happened, i tried another charger , actually got it started so i shut it off, left battery charge for 6 hours , tried again ...battery had not taken a charge ... The warning lights within the dash ( brake , check engine alt ... Etc....) all had light up when i turned the key but when i tried to start the truck they went out... I didn't get the clicking sound you get when a battery is dying.... Can someone tel me what this might be...

First, I'd check to see just how charged the battery is, turn the key in the accessory position and turn on a bunch of stuff like the air, lights, windshield wipers and radio and see if the battery can power them.  If it can't you might just wanna try having your battery tested first.  The starter could have locked up, get under the car and hit it with a hammer while someone turns the key and see if it turns.  It could also be that the solenoid is dead.  IF you take the starter off you can have it tested at an auto parts store.

Sounds as if you've got a buildup of corrosion under one of your battery terminals, more that likely the positive one which allows a small amount of current to go through, ie enough to run your dash lights. When a large load is placed on it the connection burns away leaving you with no circuit at all. Try taking the terminals off and cleaning any corrosion you find there.

I know exactly what you're talking about.  I have a 1995 Blazer and the same thing happened.  My ex charged it up, nothing happened.  He got underneath it and banged on something with a hammer.  I got my dad to look at it, and the terminals had a lot of corrosion on them, so he had to clean them off.
