Can I Breed Syrian Hamsters And Dwarf Hamsers Togther?

I have two different breeds of hamsters. I have a female dwarf hamster, and a male syrian hamster. I was wanting to know if it would be okay if they mate together.

You may be able to, but they may not want to mate. Unlike humans, animals only have sex for procreation, i.e., perpetuation or continuation of the species to which they belong. As a result, this creates another difference between animals and humans, which is that having sex for creation and not for pleasure results in animals seeking mates only when a female releases fertile eggs and is capable of becoming pregnant. During this relatively short, reoccurring and constant time frame during which the female can get pregnant is similar for humans in that it is brought about by the female body becoming flooded by a massive chemical influx of pregnancy hormones. These create a condition in the female referred to as estrous which usually occurs once during each pregnancy cycle and is usually what causes animals to seek out each other for mating. Humans are the only animals that are known to have sex purely for pleasure as well as take preventative measures to stop or reduce any chances of becoming pregnant, animals do not.
