What Do You Know About George Vancouver?

George Vancouver is a famous English navigator who also became a legend himself. He was born on 22nd of June of the year 1757 at King's Lynn in Norfolk in England.

When George Vancouver was only a thirteen years old guy he entered in the Royal Navy. James Cook was his partner in his earlier voyages. His second voyage was during 1772 to 1775. He made his third voyage between the years of 1776 to 1779 towards Pacific.

The year of 1791 was very important for him. He explored the coasts of Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii and Tahiti. In the years of 1792 he reached the Pacific coast of North America. About the year of 1794, he made a clear map of the major positions of the coast of North America. His maps along with his accounts of his famous voyages were brought out as a book in the year of 1798.

George Vancouver died on 10th of May in the year of 1798 in Richmond in Surrey.
