Abortion is frowned upon by anti-abortionists due to a number of reasons, religious and non-religious. The non-religious reasons seem to be more valid than those religious reasons.

The most important reasons why abortion is frowned upon, is the cruelty meted out to the unborn child during an abortion. A number of methods are used for abortion, each being cruel and painful for the foetus. Abortion involves deliberately killing a baby while in the uterus of the mother and then cutting it into pieces to take it out of the womb.

Abortion is frowned upon for religious reasons. Every religion preaches against murder, and abortion is seen as cold blooded murder by some religions. Catholics the world over are against abortion, because they consider it against the act of God in creating a new human being and also consider abortion to be murder. For them, it is God who has created life, and it is against God to destroy it through abortion.

Abortion before 9 weeks does not involve the cutting up of the embryo (it's not technically a foetus before 10 weeks).

In my opinion abortion is frowned upon by me because when a couple decides to have sex.. They KNOW the responsibility they're taking on their shoulders and they should know that there is definitely a chance of getting pregnant. So if the woman does get pregnant.. It should be expected and if she's not ready for a baby.. Maybe she shouldn't have had sex then.
