Abraham Lincoln belonged to Republican Party. He was well –known orator of his time. At Young Men's Lyceum of Springfield Illinois on January 27,1838,he addressed a large audience. At the time of this address, he was 28 years old. In his famous speech, he lamented about the Freedom and its significance. According to him, the relation between citizens and their country is vice-versa. The people are quite emotional about their country as it is a natural feeling and this relationship gets stronger and stronger if they get their full rights, which include freedom of speech, equality, and protection by the law and self-defence. Now it is the duty of political government to take good care of their people. He stressed over political and religious freedom.

He made people remember the sacrifices of the people in the past, and lamented over the Declaration of Independence1776.He opined that now it's a matter of past that our fore-fathers have struggled very hard to achieve this homeland, now it's the duty of present generation to fulfill all the promises made in that declaration. As this homeland is achieved after several sacrifices. It is very hard to retain the freedom and for this one must respect each other's freedom. This will help a great deal to fortify the relationship between the country and their citizens. It's like curing a disease
