How To Build A Cement Stairway?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Before we decide on building the cement stairway, we should be well-versed with the terminology for stairs. There are three parts to a stairway. The first is the stringer, which is the construction that supports the stairs. There are two stringers-one on every side of the stairway. The rise is the height of a particular stair and the tread which is nothing but the width of the stair.

It is important to invest in quality cement and build strong layers of structure which can resist the pressure applied on them during the pouring of the cement and also in the finishing process. You can start using pre-fabricated forms or sturdy wood available at various stores which sell construction material. The prefabricated forms come especially in many sizes. You have to make sure that the shapes and sizes obtainable are tailored for the stairs that you wish to construct.  Use reinforcing bars in the stairs so that they are in a position to endure the pressures and stresses. If there are questions about the amount of reinforcing bars to use, you can check with your cement supplying store.
