What Is A Note In Music?

Answer Question

A note is a symbol which shows you what part of the instrument to play and for how long to play it.playing music is great fun but learning to read it is tricky.Music is written on 5 lines and 4 spaces.this is called a stave. You can learn much quicker if you use rhymes to remind you.

e.g- for the base clef's lines remember 'Gigantic Blue Dog Follows Alligators.'
G on the last line of the stave, B on the second last, D in the middle and so on.
for the base clefs spaces remember 'All Cows Eat Grass'
A in the space between bar 4 and 5, C between bar 3 and 4, etc.

for the treble clef lines remember 'Eccentric Green Birds Dont Fly'
E on the last line, G on the second last, B on the third, etc..
for the treble cleff spaces remember the word 'face'- F on the space between bar 4 and five,A between 3 and four, etc.

If you remember these, you will know the letter names of the notes and be able to play.then youve got to learn the different types- eg. crotchet and minumn, to know how many beats they have.hope this helps!Im still learning about crotchets and minumns.
