What Type Of Climate Is In Estonia?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Estonia, formally known as the Republic of Estonia, is a county situated in Northern Europe. Estonia shares its land borders to the south with Baltic state Latvia and towards the east with Russia. It is divided from Finland in the north by a thin Gulf of Finland and from Sweden towards the west by the Baltic Sea.

Estonia is placed towards the northern region of the temperate climate zone and lies in between the transition zone of maritime and continental climate. Because of the Gulf Stream, Estonia keeps receiving warm winds despite of being near the northern latitude.

The Baltic Sea makes the climate differ in the inner region and also towards the coastal region. The standard yearly temperature in Estonia is around 4.5 degrees Celsius. The standard temperature in February, which is said to be the coldest month of the year, is -5.2 degrees Celsius.
