North Carolina was amongst the thirteen colonies that seceded to the Union for the first time. It is considered as 28th most populated state in the United States. Its also has a key location at the Atlantic Seaboard with South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Virginia as its neighbors.

Before North Carolina was officially found, it had many native people. Spanish people were the first ones to set foot on this place. Elizabeth 1 of England granted it through a charter to Sir Walter Raleign.  However, it was not colonized until King Charles II of England granted a charter for it. This happened in the year 1663.
