Turtles should not be hunted for turtle soup, as several species are going extinct. Turtles should be caught as part of a sport where they are released once again in the wild. Knowing behavioural patterns of the turtle can help in knowing where to find and hunt them. Turtles generally eat snails, weeds, small fish and crawfish. As turtles are cold blooded animals they prefer sunlight at times. It is best to use equipment that is not lethal or harmful to the turtle. A pole with a net at the end can be used with ease. Sometimes a raft can also be used to catch turtles in water but they are far quicker in water than on land. Turtles should be approached carefully as they may seem easy to catch but they have pretty good eyesight. A bucket can be used to keep the turtles that are caught.
