If the fuses are okay and the bulbs are good, the next culprits to eliminate are the bulb holders and wiring to the terminals. Check the terminals on the bulb holders, these could have been furred up. You will need to remove the bulb to check properly. Also ensure the wiring to the bulb holder is secure and in good condition.
Next stop is the reverse gear switch. This is usually located around the gear lever area on a manual transmission. It could be simply a case of replacing this switch.
Before removing the switch, however, check to see if its dirty or being snagged in some way. A quick blast with a freeing solution might do the trick, so try this first before replacing the reversing switch.
If you do change the reversing switch and the problem is still not rectified then there is a problem with the wiring or earth. Could be a break or a short circuit. Or, depending on the age of the vehicle, corrosion within the wiring itself which is difficult to detect by sight alone.
