    C.Diff are bacteria which are present in the environment, soil and humans etc. These bacteria can cause diarrhea in humans. C.Diff are present in human intestine without any harm but these become pathogen when a person takes antibiotics for longer duration. There are many beneficial bacteria in the human intestine which don't allow C.Diff to grow abnormally and become pathogen. Prolong use of antibiotics can kill these beneficial bacteria, so, C.Diff become pathogen. This is possible explanation of what your asking.
