The grid system of plan or gridiron means a style of city plan in which the streets run at right angles to each other while outlining the structure of a grid. These archetypes are generally considered as not very expensive if compared with a high street plan. One of the greatest complexities with grid plans is that they are deficient in specialization, most of the significant amenities being concentrated along the city's major arteries. These plans are frequently found in the linear settlements with the main street linking the perpendicular roads.
