I am looking for a data-entry or typing position that I can do from my own home. Where can I go to find ligitimate companies that won't just scam me for money?

Lots of Blurters have asked this question - I can remember answering a few myself - so you could type in some keywords like "work home" into the Blurtit search window and see if you get some helpful hints.
You are dead right about the scams - ANYTHING which asks for money up front is very dubious. However, there are useful websites like

which give advice to home workers. This site is also straightforward and has sensible ideas for finding typing work. Finally, your local Yellow Pages may also help - there could be a typing agency or publisher you could work for.
