The complete process of water cycle describes the movement of water above and below the earth surface. Our climates are continuously changing but this change is not so fast that a normal person can see or feel this change. There are so many changes have been taken place on the earth . A period of extremely warm climate of Dinosaurs age and extremely cold climate or ice age almost 18,000 years back. Glaciers are still present by with this warm climate they are changing into water at much faster rate.
If the glaciers contain ice and they are not in continuous movement, it doesn't mean that they don't have any effect on the water cycle or our environment. As we know that the white color reflects the light, so the same is the case with ice. Ice is in white color it reflects the sunlight and its plays a role in weather pattern. That's the reason that at the top of the ice cap there is temperature difference as compared to the surface. The wind pattern which affects the weather system is totally changed around the covered icecaps.
