How Did Dr. Phil Become A Psychologist?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Born in Okalahoma, Phil McGraw moved with his family so that his father could chase his childhood dream of becoming a psychologist. While in school, Phil McGraw got a scholarship for football which allowed him to get through the University of Tulsa. However, once he had a foot injury he had to change his university and thus entered the Midwestern State University, where he graduated in the stream of arts with majors in psychology.
Then following his father's footsteps Phil completed his Masters in experimental psychology. But that wasn't the end. He then did a doctorate course in clinical psychology and thus became Dr. Phil McGraw.
He started private practise and then began joining his father in seminars which followed by him establishing a consulting firm called Courtroom Sciences where he began advising various companies and plaintiffs.
