1. Install iTunes from Apple's website: www.apple.com

2. Take the cable that came with the iPod, connect one end to the socket on the bottom of the iPod, and the other to a port in your computer. You cannot get the cable connections wrong, as they only connect up one way.

3. If iTunes does not automatically launch, run it (Windows: Start > All Programs > iTunes. Mac: From Applications folder).

4. ITunes should prompt you for the rest. If it doesn't, simply select the iPod from the "Source" section in the column on the left. When you click on the iPod in that column, it gives you all the options in the main window. You can name it, choose what to sync over, etc.
