How Many Times Did Paul McGrath Play For The Republic Of Ireland?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Paul McGrath was born in Ealing, London in December nineteen fifty nine.

Born to mixed race parents, McGrath's Irish mother fled to London from Ireland, to hand up her son for adoption, fearful of her father's reaction to not only to tell him she was pregnant, but also the child was the product of an inter racial relationship.

As a result McGrath spent most of his childhood being bought up in various Orphanages in Dublin.

After making his debut for the Republic of Ireland in nineteen eighty five, Mcgrath went on to play for his country eighty three times, scoring eight international goals; his final appearance for Ireland came in nineteen ninety seven.

McGrath represented Ireland at two world cups, the first in Italy in nineteen ninety, where the Irish made their world cup debut and again in the world cup of nineteen ninety four, held in the USA.
