What Are Bawtry Auctions?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Bawtry Auction is a motor auction that is held in South Yorkshire and sells both cars as well as motorcycles. It began in the year 1947 when the first sale was recorded in the area of Retford. At the time the entries included everything from motors to accessories to tyres. The auctioneer was the owner Leonard Tomlinson whose picture is still present on a poster that was made for that event. His sons manage the business today.

In the year 1961, the entire auction shifted to Bawtry and used Nissan huts as auction houses. Since that time it has managed to move close to 1,000,000 vehicles in around 6,300 auctions. Today, many of the things have undergone changes and the entire business is functioning on up to date computer systems.
