Getting a domain name is a great way to start. The cost does very though - depending on who you purchase from. Do some research before buying. You can find plenty of suppliers via any search engine.

Then you need a host. Your new domain is not accessible until you have published a website or at least a web page. There are hundreds of web hosting companies. I have found that a price of 125 to 150 per year will get you some good service. Look for a host that also provides web building tools free.

As for picking a name; many people advise a name that is related to your business, like if you sell pizza - joes pizza dot com. But this is not a necessity.
