Why Are People Against Dr. Phil's Counselling Approach?

Popularity is a two edged sword. But as Madonna says any publicity is good publicity. Dr. Phil has been criticized on several grounds. To begin with, the method or approach that he has towards the way he handles the case of his patients in quite empirical. And those who approach is traditional are against Dr. Phil's approach of focusing on behaviour modification and not changing the root cause of the problem.  

These critics believe that he concentrates more on making an exciting show rather than investing time in getting to the bottom of finding out the cause for individuals behaviour. No doubt, he does not fear in telling people his opinion and the "get real" line works for him but this is what sells and this is all that the people need, one man to set them straight. Thus the doctor does not live with any regrets. And his show Dr. Phil is still among the most watched talk show in America.

I believe it is because he tells people how it is without taking side, and most people don't like to hear the truth, or they have already taken a side and he doesn't agree with them. Therefore they get offended.
