Where Is Stonehenge Located?

    Stonehenge is located in the English county of Wiltshire. It is situated near Amersbury and lies about 13 kilometres north of Salisbury. In terms of its geographical location, it lies at 1.8265 West and 51.179 North on the globe. It is one of the world's most famous prehistoric sites and it seen as being a megalithic monument that dates back to the Neolithic and the Bronze Age. It is essentially a structure composed of large standing stones that were raised sometime between 2500 and 2000 BCE. UNESCO added it into the 'World Heritage Sites' list in the year 1986 and is today managed by English heritage. Since it was discovered, there have been many theories as to how and why the Stonehenge was created.

      The stonehenge is located in england and has been there for over 5,000 years. The stonehenge is a mass of sarsen sandstone and was built as a sacrificial ground. (at least, that was what was believed)
